Finance Transformation and Controls Lead

As a Finance Transformation and Controls Lead you will be reporting to the Finance Director and responsible to drive the Finance transformation activities and embed a culture of continuous improvement following recent investments in technology. The role will also encompass monitoring the internal control environment in line with Law 262 procedures (similar to Sarbanes-Oxley)

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead transformation initiatives across the Finance function and Support the design of the Controls framework in accordance with Group policy.
• Provide process improvement expertise to the team and review, assist and test the  Finance processes, on a quarterly/semi-annual basis, to ensure all controls are effective. 
• Support the overall Law262 (Italian version of SOX) regulatory framework. This includes prioritisation and to perform compliance programs and communicate  the results of the L262 Program to Senior Management and Group in accordance with the required deadlines.
• Identify the key controls, classify the risk level involved and establish a remediation plan if needed. Guide and support the Finance team to  update Process documents as necessary on a timely basis. 
• Review and assess new systems/applications implemented, ensuring appropriate controls are documented and in place.
• Ensure the  process is appropriately assigned, documented, and monitored to ensure quality and control, leveraging technology to benefit the Finance function.
• Participate in hoc projects as assigned by the Finance Manager/CFO.

KEY REQUIREMENT FOR THIS ROLE:

• 3 - 4 years of experience in financial accounting processes in a Financial Services environment (Ideally Asset Management and/or Life Assurance).
• 1 year of experience in Qualified Accounting (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) with process experience or recognised process engineering certification (Lean / Six Sigma).
• Excellent Excel, presentation & communication skills.
• SAP S4/Hana or SAP Analytics Cloud experience is an added advantage. 
• Internal Controls/Audit Experience including an ability to identify risks and propose solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and should have focused  on Finance process improvement and management
• High attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines and the ability to influence the team and senior stakeholders
• Proactive with an ability to work independently
